Talk with Peter Fischli and Eva Fabbris

Gli anni. Capitolo 3

To mark the opening of the third chapter of Gli anni, Madre launches the public program accompanying the exhibition with a conversation between the museum’s Director, Eva Fabbris, and artist Peter Fischli.

Each chapter of Gli anni features one or more artists invited to exhibit in Naples for the first time. Their presence is intended to encourage reflection on the museum as a living, evolving archive, as well as a custodian of memories from the past.

Within this context, Madre welcomes Peter Fischli, an internationally renowned Swiss artist who began his career in the 1970s, collaborating with David Weiss and subsequently pursuing his own path as a solo artist.  Working across sculpture, photography, film, and installation, Fischli transforms everyday objects and gestures into poetic, playful, and speculative tools.

On the occasion of the opening of Gli anni. Chapter 3, Peter Fischli will be in Naples for a public conversation with Eva Fabbris about his work for Madre. Together, they will retrace the genesis of Dazzalino, the half-bear, half-dog creature presented for the first time in Naples, and discuss what it means today to rethink public sculpture beyond commemorative rhetoric, opening it instead to doubt, imagination, and the possibility of error.

The conversation will be held in English.
