Talk with Eva Giolo

Gli anni. Capitolo 2

As part of the second chapter of Gli anni, Madre continues its public program alongside the exhibition with an event dedicated to artist Eva Giolo in the Library spaces.

Born in Brussels in 1991, Eva Giolo works with film, video, and installation, using experimental and documentary strategies to explore themes such as intimacy and memory. The three video works presented as part of Gli anni. Capitolo 2 – Stone, Hat, Ribbon and Rose, Silent Conversations, and The Advantages of Lying on The Floor – were all made in 2023, and offer a complex look at the artist’s poetics, featuring both critical and poetic commentaries on everyday life, relationships, and the passing of time, which on some occasions appears suspended and subtly surreal.

Gianluca Ricco, co-director of ARTINMOVE WEEKS – REVERSE ANGLE, the first edition of the festival dedicated to the moving image, promoted by the Artinmove Observatory of the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, will also take part in the conversation.
