Alessandra Troncone

Alessandra Troncone (Naples, 1984) is a curator and art historician. She earned a Ph.D. in Art History at the Università Sapienza in Rome in 2012, conducting research on Italian exhibitions in the 1960s and 1970s, on what she published the volume La smaterializzazione dell’arte in Italia 1967-1973 (Postmedia, 2014). In 2015-2016 she took part to the Curatorial Program of de Appel Arts Centre, Amsterdam, where she co-curated the exhibition Rien ne va plus? Faites vos jeux! with relative public program. In 2016 she was curator-in-residence in the Curatorial Program for Resarch – Eastern Europe. Within her latest curatorial projects we find the solo exhibition by Hamza Halloubi How Far is Far? (Museo Hermann Nitsch, Naples 2017) and Someone I Have Been Observing for Some Time (Fondazione Pastificio Cerere, Rome 2017). A Professor of History of Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catanzaro, she is a correspondent for “Flash Art” and author of essays and articles in various books and art catalogues.
