Bellezza e Terrore

Hours and Tickets

Addressing themes such as colonialism and fascism, racism and violence – which have dramatically returned to the centre of international debate in recent years – Bellezza e Terrore explores, through the eyes of contemporary artists, theorists and critics, a geographical and temporal concomitance between stories never told together. New productions – commissioned to artists such as Rossella Biscotti, Alessandra Cianelli, Sagal Farah and Giulia Piscitelli – reflect on the content, aesthetics and meaning of some narrative and historical traces: from the images collected in her personal photographic archive by Hillmann Landwehr, Nazi intelligence agent in Campania between 1942 and 1943, to the documents and materials relating to the establishment of the “Mostra d’Oltremare” in Naples on May 9th 1940 and its closure, one month later, when Italy entered the war.
