While the coronavirus pandemic is forcing all of us around the world to change our lifestyle and social relationships, we have the opportunity to reflect on the values we share and to imagine a new role for the Arts and thus for a contemporary art museum.
It is for this reason that Madre museum has chosen to join the national #iorestoacasa (#stayinghome) campaign, inviting all the artists to interpret specific words and crucial themes which mirror this very special historical moment, during which daily life has changed abruptly: close/distant, home, isolation, community, quarantine, family, relationships, transmission, solidarity, infection, space, border, body, rules, routine, limit, mutation, emergency, hug, opportunity.
In the hope that you will join and like to share our initiative, we invite you to send us a video, a drawing, a photo, a sound file or any other contribution, to help the museum and its public to understand, digest and transform this unprecedented situation and our perceptions about it.
